In 2012, the Hamburg-based company Willy Benecke GmbH chose Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as its new production site. The excellent connection to the Port of Hamburg, through which the company imports raw material, played an important role in the decision. The subsidiary SprayCom GmbH processes gum arabic for soft drinks, sweeteners and pharmaceutical as well as technical products at the modern spray drying plant in Wittenburg. The state-of-the-art production plant has an annual capacity of 4,000 tons. The affiliated laboratory also ensures continuous quality control and product optimization.
